Bicycle Race!
So on Thursday my outdoor activities class set out for a mini canoe trip. We went to this beautiful lake called Mattis lake. We practiced rescues, so we flipped our boats and the water was real cold. but really refreshing. On Friday we set out early, we got drove by maxi taxi far from town and we had to bike back. It was really rough terrain, over the Finnmark plateau. We started off at this small bed & breakfast type place. It was really old fashion Norwegian. Very cute place with lots of old antiques. In the wilderness about every 30 km there are one of these spots. For lunch we stopped at another one and made a fire in an Sami tipis. In the first 10 minutes of biking I saw my reindeer! I was probably the only one that was really freaking out with excitment, I almost fell over. All along the plateau is rock piles with huge crosses, so to mark the way in the winter. I was riding beside one of my class mates and we were in the lead by a few km, and we saw this beautiful mountain lake! So we jumped in, and our whole class drove by and thought we were crazies. Then as we were nearing the town my friend and I got distracted by this man who was fly fishing, we strayed off the cource and took the wrong route and added a good 5km onto our trip. Which just happened to be straight up hill and really rocky. It was a great day!

Jeg Var Pa Toppene!
So our first day of class, our outdoor activities teacher challenged us that if we hiked these 3 peaks surrounding Alta he would give us a free t-shirt. (---thats what it looks like) So in 5 days some of us hiked these three peaks. They were really breathtaking, we got to see the town from all perspectives, and the whole Alta fjord. In this group picture are a few of us international student (l-r) Thomas (germany), Bruno (portugal), Artum (russia), Luba (russia), Katsia(russia), Annette (germany), me (hawarden), Friederike (germany).
On the top of every mountain there was a little mailbox that had a guestbook in it. So we got to write our name, and where we are from, and see how many people before us had climbed to this peak. So if any of you dont trust that ive been there, you climb to the top and see for yourself.

Capital City!
On August 14th I arrived in Olso! Met by Anna and Stefan at the train station, we went up the Esker Camping where we spent 2 nights. It had a beautiful view over looking Oslo.
This is Stefan, Anna and I on a bus.. this is right before I vomited into my shopping bag. there was a poor girl beside me that had to endure that unfortunate episode.
While touring Oslo, this is in the park surrounding the Palace.
This a flower bed in Vigeland Park in Oslo
Me eating my first skolebolle! I am now addicted!
This is a real viking ship at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo. It was a really cool place!
